PSHE/SMSC/Relationships

As part of our exciting and inspirational curriculum, we teach PSHE (Personal, Social & Health Education) and SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural) and Relationships (including RSE: Relationships and Sex Education).

These areas are taught through a series of lessons and units which cover a wide range of teaching styles and gives children opportunities to share, discuss and create and become more confident in themselves and how they interact with others.

One of the ways in which we achieve this is by using the HeartSmart materials. This is led through a robot called BORIS who was saved by two children after the junkyard owner was about to scrap him!

The children unpick the HeartSmart values in Collective Worship and develop these more in lesson time.

Our own VALUES tie in beautifully with the HeartSmart High 5 and allow us to further embed and deepen the learning here.
