Curriculum

Have a read through the comments submitted to this site by members of the public and some of our school children. We're really pleased that all of our hard work has come together well and created such an excellent resource for us to refer to.

  Curriculum
The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum, within the guidelines laid down by government, which will enable each child to develop to meet the aims of the school.
Particular attention is given to incorporating the government inspired Literacy and Numeracy Hours into the timetable.

Please also note the following:

* We have recently had installed a fully networked and internet capable ICT suite.
* We are fortunate to have large school grounds which include two tarmac playgrounds, a conservation area, our new Millennium garden, an all-weather pitch and cricket nets.
* Our Year 3 pupils are able to use the swimming pool at the Colonel Frank Seely School in Calverton.
* Many of our children take advantage of the services of the county peripatetic music staff for individual instrumental tuition.

Religious Education
* The religious education provided is in accordance with much of the Nottinghamshire Agreed Syllabus subject to variations as agreed by the Governors. The school has strong links with the local church and seeks to embody Christian values in its teaching and attitudes.
* We hold daily acts of worship with a whole school assembly on Fridays when worship is generally led by our local Church of England vicar or other visiting Christian leaders and we have prayers at the end of the day.
* Should it be required, the school will make arrangements for parents to exercise their right of withdrawal of their children from religious worship or instruction.

Special Educational Policy
We have a policy to support pupils with special needs whether or not the child has a statement of Special Educational Needs.

The policy includes information about the school's processes and procedures in the following areas:
* admission arrangements
* special facilities/support
* allocation of resources
* curriculum access
* integration of pupils with special educational needs
* evaluation criteria
* links with other organisations/schools.
A copy of the full policy is available in school.

Religious Affiliations
The School is a Voluntary Aided one under the auspices of the Church of England.
